Pacemaker Surgery / Therapy

Hawaii Pacemaker Surgery / Therapy

Your Hawaii cardiologist may have discussed pacemaker therapy with you. Pacemaker surgery or pacemaker therapy is needed when your heart rate is too slow or heart misses a beat. A pacemaker is a small electronic device, about the size of a credit card that is usually inserted in the skin just below collar bone during the therapy. With pacemaker surgery / therapy the heart is stimulated with small electrodes or wires, that sends electrical impulses to your heart to maintain or restore a heart rhythm. The pacemaker also stores important data regarding the function of your heart.
